In this section of the exhibition you will find several examples of a particular type of inscriptions in which the connection between life and the written object is very strong: magic inscriptions.

HEpOl 21481

This first example is a singular execratio engraved on a marble slab and consecrated to the dea Ataecina Turibregensis Proserpina, a local deity associated with graeco- roman Proserpina and thus, with infernal functions. The claim seems to be some stolen clothes. Not surprisingly, the monument was found in the bottom of a reservoir.
