Chers/Chères Collègues,
dans le cadre du projet “DigiByzSeal – Dévoiler la richesse cachée des sceaux : nouvelles méthodologies pour la recherche historique dans le domaine des études byzantines” (plus d’informations ici), financé conjointement par l’ANR et la DFG, nous recherchons:
2 chercheurs/chercheuses post-doctorants/doctorantes en Études byzantines et Humanités numériques
à partir du 1er avril 2022 pour 24 mois.
Cet appel à candidature s’adresse aux chercheurs en début de carrière, avec moins de 4 ans d’expérience, mais la priorité sera donnée aux candidats ayant terminé leur doctorat moins de 2 ans avant le début du contrat.
Les candidats/candidates retenus/retenues travailleront au sein du CNRS–UMR 8167, Orient et Méditerranée, composante Monde Byzantin, basée à Paris (5e arrondissement), dans les locaux du Collège de France, où les activités de recherche seront menées sous la supervision d’Alessio Sopracasa, responsable scientifique du projet.
Des connaissances en histoire byzantine, en sigillographie, en épigraphie et/ou en numismatique ainsi qu’en XML (notamment TEI et EpiDoc) et XSLT sont souhaitables, mais pas indispensables.

In the framework of the project “DigiByzSeal – Unlocking the value of seals: New Methodologies for Historical Research in Byzantine Studies” (more on the project here) jointly funded by the ANR and the DFG, we are looking for:
2 postdoctoral researchers in Byzantine Studies and Digital Humanities
to start on April 1st 2022 for 24 months.
This call for application is intended for early career researchers, with less than 4 years of experience, but priority will be given to applicants having finished their PhD no longer than 2 years prior to the beginning of the contract.
You will work within the CNRS – UMR 8167, Orient et Méditerranée, équipe Monde Byzantin, based in Paris (5th arrondissement), in the premises of the Collège de France, where the work will be carried out under the supervision of Alessio Sopracasa, scientific responsible of the project.
Knowledge in Byzantine history, sigillography, epigraphy and/or numismatics as well as XML (particularly TEI and EpiDoc) and XSLT are preferable, but not mandatory.
